I am Moshe Chaim Katz, a photographer of religious Jewish weddings based in Israel. If you are choosing a photographer for a Manchester wedding, I would like to understand the people, the photographs and the day you have in mind. International bookings are agreed individually around the date, coverage and travel.

THE APPROACH
Portraits with presence.
People at ease.
A portrait does not need to begin with a list of small corrections to your hands or expression. I suggest a simple action, choose the light and composition, and photograph while you move and respond.
That direction is adjusted to the person and to what is appropriate for the couple. We discuss when portraits together can take place rather than assuming a session before the chuppah.
During the actual events, the attention is different: I watch the relationships and the unfolding celebration. A considered portrait and an unprompted family moment each add something to the story.

FAMILIES & TIMING
Make room for
the people who matter.
Planning the family photographs is a conversation about people before it is a timetable. Which relatives would you like photographed together? Are there relationships or sensitivities I should understand? Who can help gather the right people when it is time?
If the two families are preparing separately, or important events overlap, tell me at the outset. We can discuss the priorities and the coverage required without assuming that one person can be in two places at once.
As a Haredi photographer, I am familiar with religious weddings. I still ask about your family's own customs and the way you want the day to unfold.
A clear plan for
your Manchester wedding
Send your date and the venue or area in Manchester, along with any separate preparation or ceremony locations. A provisional outline is enough to begin.
Next we consider family portraits, the order of events and any simultaneous parts of the day. If you would like portraits outside the venue, we discuss a realistic window and an indoor alternative, rather than allowing photography to take over the celebration.
Coverage, the people involved in the photography and travel conditions are agreed for your particular wedding. I am based in Israel and do not present myself as a Manchester studio or promise a standing local team.
The purpose of planning is to make your priorities clear, so the photographs include both the portraits you value and the events you want to remember.

Can you photograph a wedding in Manchester?
You can enquire about inviting me from Israel. Availability depends on the date, location, scope and travel conditions, which we discuss individually.
What if preparations or events happen separately?
Share the locations and approximate times. We discuss what should be photographed and whether the coverage requires more than one person. The team is agreed for the event.
Do we need to prepare a family list?
A short list of important groupings is a useful starting point. Tell me about the people and any sensitivities as well; names alone do not explain every family relationship.
Will portraits follow our customs?
The timing of couple portraits, direction and any boundaries are discussed in advance. I do not apply one pre-chuppah portrait plan to every couple.
Are these photographs from Manchester?
