Jewish Wedding
Photography in London

I am Moshe Chaim Katz, an Israel-based photographer of religious Jewish weddings. If you are planning your wedding in London, you can enquire about inviting me to photograph it. The date, location, coverage and travel arrangements are discussed individually.

THE APPROACH

Direction, with room
to be yourselves.

You do not need a collection of poses prepared for the camera. I offer a simple action and photograph while it unfolds, watching how the light falls and how you move and react.

The direction has a purpose: expressive portraits in which you can still recognise yourself. We discuss what feels appropriate for you; the same actions and timing will not suit every couple.

During the ceremony and celebration, I observe what is taking place. Directed portraits and genuine family exchanges are different parts of the story, and I give attention to both.

RELIGIOUS CONTEXT

Your family.
Your order of the day.

As a Haredi photographer, I understand the importance of religious context. Familiarity with the community does not tell me everything about your family.

Before your London wedding, we discuss the sequence you are following, the people you want in family photographs and any boundaries that affect the photography. Separate celebrations and events happening in different places are part of that discussion.

Couple portraits are planned around your practice. I do not assume that you will be photographed together before the chuppah, or suggest the same physical direction to every couple.

Planning photography
for your London wedding

The first useful details are the date and the venue or area in London. If preparations, the chuppah and the celebration take place at different locations, include those too, even if the plan is still provisional.

We can then discuss the sequence of the day, portrait time and family priorities. For portraits away from the venue, we consider the time available, movement between locations and a suitable indoor alternative.

Coverage, the people involved in photographing the event and the conditions of travel are agreed for the particular wedding. I am based in Israel; international availability is established for your date and plans.

You do not need every detail settled before getting in touch. A date, a place and an outline of what matters to you provide a useful beginning.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

A few practical questions

Where are you based?

I am based in Israel. London weddings are considered as international bookings, with availability and arrangements discussed individually.

Can we invite you to photograph our wedding in London?

Yes, you can enquire. Whether I can accept depends on the date, location, coverage and travel conditions.

How do we discuss our family’s customs?

Tell me about the order of the day, important family photographs and any requirements that affect when and how photography takes place. We discuss those details in advance.

Where can we see current photographs?

The Portfolio presents a broader selection. The images on this page were photographed in Israel and show my current photographic approach.

What should we send with an international enquiry?

Your date, London venue or area, other locations involved and the coverage you are considering. Team and travel arrangements are discussed for your particular wedding.
